Mini Update
Since I have been so busy in the yard I have not had time to start back with my sewing. I am hoping to get to it tomorrow after it get too hot to play outside. I figure this summer I will do a lot of sewing after I get the garden all established to where it just needs early morning or evening attention.

Moving - A Collection of Thoughts
Going through things and packing them up brought back a flood of memories. When I got out my pink glass dish set I could still taste all the holiday meals we ate on them. They have not been used in years. I got tired of me being the one to do all the dishes after a big family dinner. Started using paper plates. Made me sad, so I think we will start using them again.
Then I came along to the fondue sets. We are going to have more of that too.
Started thinking about a lot of things we have not done in a long time that was fun that we need to do again.
I do not think I could say we ever got all packed. Where did all that stuff come from. It took me a whole day to just do the kitchen and another day to do the bedroom. It was so frustrating. I just had to keep going from one thing to another. Put my brain and body on auto pilot just to get it done.
Then there was the weather. All winter we had nice weather, then came our week to move and winter came roaring back. Our first trip was made in a white out, Adam, Brendan and the dog were in the big moving truck and I and seven very unhappy cats were in my car. A trip that should have taken about two hours took over three. I only got scared one time, when I realized that the moving truck I was following, was not ours and since I could not see any landmarks I did not have a good idea where I was. Called the boy on his cell phone on speaker and had them talk me through it and on to the highway.
We started with the truck on a Wednesday, a 24 foot truck, and made a total of three trips with it. The first trip loading and unloading was just the three of us doing all the work. The second trip one of Adams co workers showed up and what a savior he was and he came back the next night with Adams boss and helped again. Saturday morning we got other guys from his work on this end to help us unload and get the truck back to the rental place.
Having the cats in their little crates was a live saver. They were locked up for the trip and then locked up in them again as people ran in and out with boxes. The dog has a nice enclosed pen here for her to be in and her big crate in the house.
We are just about all unpacked. It is a real challenge as you see we were living in a 24 x 70 double wide but are now living in a 12 x 60 single wide and the shed here is much, much smaller. But we are getting to buy the whole place, home and land. So once it is paid off, it is paid off. No lot rent. We are planning to add on to the place, to start this summer with a new front room with the wood stove, a bigger bedroom for the boy, two bathrooms, and a bigger bedroom for us too.
Most of all I will have a garden space, a big garden space. We have already planted all our roses from the other place and my rhubarb plant too. We can have a real fence here too.
I hope to be able to play in the yard by next week. Starting with a good cleaning and installing my pond.
The home it self is old but in pretty good shape. So far we have not found any major problems and she is solid.
Very quite a night here, no more highway noise. Lots of birds and bunnies, heard the hawks screeching over head and found deer tracks in the back in the alley way.
And then there were the twelve apache choppers that flew over the other morning. Wow! Shook the trailer like an earthquake. Six of them made a pass this morning too.
So all my sewing stuff is set up. I will now be sewing at the kitchen table, heck I have done some of my best work there in the past. All three of my machines are stored in an old trunk with my ott light and iron. I hope to be creating things again by May. Unless I find the yard and garden more fun. LOL

The Time has Come
To Move.
Took our first load down today. Yard stuff, fencing and a trailer full of storage items. Planning on going back tomorrow with more yard stuff and the plants.
Main move in day is Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
I am so ready but so scared.

Busy, Busy, Busy
Still busy sorting and packing. Fun but not. Lots of things going to goodwill, library used book store and friends.
On a more fun and interesting note I finally found a copy of Where Women Create. WOW! What a magazine. Then I picked up a copy of Cloth Paper Scissors again I must say WOW! I cannot put them down. What a lot of eye candy and ideas. I will be getting both again.

What the???
So I posted a few days ago and now there seems to be a glitch in my blog to where my posts do not open unless I go to the archive. I so hate messing around the computer issues.

Art Doll Quarterly
I have been reading their magazine for some time now and reading the letters to the editor. In the new issue once again there is a reader complaining about the dolls that are created more on the dark side.
Most of these dolls are created as an expression of death or a tragic even. The ones being referenced in this letter I remember well as the artist had a set she called "Katerina" her expression of the horror of the hurricane.
Some are hard to look at. They do invoke a deep feeling.
Makes we wonder if those who complain about them have trouble facing their fears in life or the harder side of life for all humanity.
To me it would be harder to create a doll with a horrific expression than a cute, happy doll. All of these dolls have a lot of emotion in them, emotion that is sometimes hard to want to see.

The Challenge
We are moving. YaY
So my challenge its to get all my craft and sewing times that I do not want in storage in to four plastic storage drawer carts.
I am actually looking forward to cleaning it all out and downsizing my crafts. They feel too scattered, loss of focus, too many directions at once.
All my UFOs will go away. I learned from them and it is time to just let them go.
Old fabric, patterns, trims and beads need to go too.
I have a list of the areas that I want to focus on so I will be using that as my guide for sorting and clearing out.
It feels good.
